Sonny Calvento
Directing
Sonny Calvento is a film director based in Manila. At the age of 19, he began working as a drama writer for television before transitioning into film and commercial directing.
His first short film Excuse Me, Miss, Miss, Miss (2021) became the first Filipino short film to premiere at Sundance Film Festival, going on to screen at Locarno Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortFest, Shanghai International Film Festival, and forty other film festivals, in addition to winning the Audience Award in Locarno Shorts Week 2023 of the Locarno Film Festival.
