Shaun Chen first started out as a model and was talent spotted by Mediacorp from the numerous billboard ads, where he was the face for Maxis (the largest telecommunications company in Malaysia).

Shaun's modeling experience naturally helped him when he started hosting and acting. His debut on screen was in the form of dramatized hosting from the hit variety program, City Beat.
