Anne Baxter (May 7, 1923 – December 12, 1985) was an American actress best known for her work in Hollywood films, Broadway, and television during the mid‑20th century. Born on May 7, 1923, in Michigan City, Indiana, she was the granddaughter of architect Frank Lloyd Wright and began acting on Broadway at the age of 13, earning strong reviews that helped launch her career.
