Dursun is an idealistic teacher. He has a happy family with his wife and son (Arkadaş). Despite being unemployed and penniless, he neither looks for work nor accepts any job. At the urging of his friends, he begins giving private lessons to a student. He starts to earn some money. The student's aunt, Sibel, is next in line for lessons, and she is attracted to Dursun, who reciprocates her feelings. This budding love cannot be hidden for long; it becomes public knowledge and makes headlines in the newspapers. The time has come to make a decision, but he refuses, returns home, yet his family, who knows everything, abandons him. He is shocked, regretful, and falls apart.
